[S2E10] Bathtub NEW!
Additionally in this podcast, we discussed how the hose was not on while the bathtub was overflowing and how the way Winston was laying on the roof changed based on where the camera angle was. We also talked about how Olivia Munn was in the movie Magic Mike which is a movie referenced earlier in New Girl when Schmidt dressed up as Matthew McConaughey for Halloween and how at the beginning of this episode, the guys were watching an actual WWF championship match between Hulk Hogan and the Iron Sheik in 1984.
[S2E10] Bathtub
It all starts with Schmidt, Nick, and Winston watching wrestling, which results in Schmidt trying to put Nick into a camel crunch. Jess breaks up this testosterone-filled display of manliness in order to propose that the loft purchase and install a bathtub in order to help her unwind after work. This plan is almost universally shot down, even though Winston seems less enthusiastic in his disdain than the others.
Tired of taking showers, Jess and Winston decide that they want to put a bathtub in the loft. However, their attempts makes matters worse causing them to fool Schmidt by faking a robbery. Meanwhile, Nick meets Angie, a tough and beautiful stripper with a hotheaded boyfriend. Schmidt struggles between having sexual relations with Emma and trying to win Cece back.

Sometime prior on the Boiling Isles, Luz, Eda, King, and Hooty are in front of a makeshift portal door near the Owl House. Luz says that Philip Wittebane mentioned the hardest part of building a portal door is finding someone who knows how to do it, since a lot of the ingredients are pretty easy to find, as Eda had most of them. King hands over Amity's glove to Luz, who can't believe that the key contained Titan's Blood this entire time. After a moment of silence, Luz remarks that if Emperor Belos wants to get to the Human Realm, he has to beat her to it. She then tears a piece off the glove and sticks it on the portal door. After that is done, Eda starts pedaling on her makeshift flying bathtub, transferring energy to the components of the portal door and then to the door itself. The door works, albeit looking crooked. Luz ties a rope onto her waist, reminding Eda, King, and Hooty to pull her back if the portal starts closing. Luz hugs the trio, and then jumps through the portal.
Agent Paul Kellerman (Paul Adelstein) has Sara in a Gila, New Mexico motel room, tied to a chair and gagged with a towel. Kellerman states he understands she feels betrayed (as he binds her legs with duct tape) and goes on to explain to the gagged Sara that he is not Lance, he is not an addict, and proceeds to interrogate her regarding the item her father took from Washington, DC. He removes the towel from her mouth and asks her what she knows. When Sara repeatedly denies knowledge of it, Kellerman tortures her by dunking her in a filled bathtub. When he still cannot get the information, Kellerman dons rubber gloves, dumps a working iron into the bathtub and dunking Sara again to add an electrocution effect to the torture routine. Agent Kim later calls Kellerman and orders him to kill Sara. After considering the matter and Sara's refusal to give in, Kellerman dunks her into the water and holds her down.
In her bathtub discussion with Viserys in Season 1's "Cripples, Bastards, and Broken Things", Doreah speaks of a man from Asshai with a dagger of real dragonglass, a man who can change his face, and a colorful pirate. The first is a reference to obsidian - which is called by Dragonglass by the smallfolk of Westeros. The second is a reference to the Faceless Men of Braavos. The third could possibly be a reference to Salladhor Saan, a noted pirate who is also from Lys. All of these later appear in Season 2.
Jess: I'd really love to come home and soak in a beautiful bathtub.Schmidt: Bathtubs are Medieval filth cauldrons ... pass.Nick: Yeah, it's a waste of money, Jess.Schmidt: I'm not interested in simmering in testicle tea for 20 minutes.
Winston: Jess, I want to talk to you about your bathtub pitch. I love baths. I do. Back in Latvia, we had a great tub. But I tell you what... there are parts of my butt only a tub can clean.Jess: Ew, but okay!Winston: Okay, here's what we're gonna do, so the guys don't know. We're gonna split the 400 bucks for the tub. Then we can hide it on the roof and install it in the middle of the night, and then we can just pretend like you did it without our permission.Jess: Or we could just... say that you wanted a tub, too.Winston: How about we just keep this a Jess and Winston thing?
